On the 2nd Blog of Christmas...

On the 2nd Blog of Christmas I offer you 2 Breakfast Recipes (& a reference to a dessert!).

One is a recipe of mine from a few months ago, but it is perfect for Christmas.
My Red Velvet Cream Cheese Icing Brownies are a perfect touch of red for holiday cheer. Add Green sprinkles to the cream cheese icing, or even 3 drops of food coloring to the icing batch & you have yourself a Christmasy brownie!! (that tastes DELICIOUS)

Okay, Recipe #1:
For a Christmas morning bread that doesn't take all day or even YEAST & still tastes like heaven in your mouth...
Pillsbury Monkey Bread

Total Ingredients:

  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Buttermilk Refrigerated Can of Biscuits from your grocery store
  • Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • Optional: Raisins, Walnuts, Diced Apples
So pretty much this is a recipe for MONKEY BREAD using only what you have in your house... and a tubed pan... How could Christmas morning get any easier??

Recipe #2:
For a saltier Christmas morning breakfast, try a Christmas Casserole

This recipe from the Food Network is a base, but I eliminate & add my own ingredients to it.
My chosen ingredients:
  • Egg (duh...)
  • Bacon Bits
  • Spinach
  • Red Potatoes
  • Cheddar Cheese (grated)
  • Pepper & Garlic Salt
  • Dry Mustard
  • Chopped Bell Peppers or Red Peppers
  • Pepperjack Cheese (grated)
  • Cornbread
Follow the recipe a bit, but deviate to use whatever your family loves to eat. Use a watchful eye to measure how much you want in each slice!

This takes on average 30 minutes, so you can do it before the kids even wake up!

Happy Breakfasting  ;)
